Why do the Sauk's reek of Abundance you ask?? Well it is because I declared that I would make a lot of money and we would have a great year full of many things! Also it might be because Aysha believes as well and took this message to heart. How do I know this? Because she was so sweet and decorated her Valentine box all by herself this Thursday while I was working. As her finishing touch she decided to put the essential oil that Matt's team owner gave us....Abundance (the team owner Kristin puts it on all her money and really believes in it, Aysha knows this) now unfortunately Aysha doesn't have experience with essential oil, as Abundance is our only bottle. Well she put about a quarter of the bottle on the box. Not only did it stain the cute hearts and flowers but it made our entire house STINK!! I put it in the garage thinking it would air out and so then our house and garage stunk. While I believe the smell has mostly subsided I still believe we will have an abundant year!! I was reminded of this just tonight as a matter of fact when I was throwing the last bag of trash in our garbage before it went out to the curb and I thought wow, even our garbage smells like abundance, now who can say that? Though it was not the best smell for our home and garage it really is an improvement for our garbage.

So as you know the Valentine box did not make it. It was seriously cute she put an MP3 player on the front and headphones inside so it would play music. Very clever I thought. Anyway all is well because she went over to a friends and decorated a new one. A suitcase theme, from Pinterest I believe. Maybe I will post a pic later if I get motivated.

Me in an effort to avoid work that I had brought home and work that I needed to do for my home made cookies this weekend. Peanut Blossoms with Reeses hearts and Dove dark chocolate and cherry swirl hearts. Cute, but also simple and very tasty. I normally don't like these cookies (PB is not my fav) but I think with the candy twist I enjoyed them more.

And what is Valentine's without the traditional heart sugar cookies? These are my serious weakness. I make them super fat and moist with yummy cream cheese frosting. Now I just have to figure out how to get rid of all this stuff with out eating it all.

AND I blame my friends...you know who you are. I don't think I was really planning on making this stuff until there was some upset about gluten, red dye, and peanut butter so I guess this was my private rebellion, yet my thighs are punished! I have yet to read my friend Keely's blog because she has posted a pic of heart cinnamon rolls and I just know if I see a big picture or read about them I'll have to make them. I am going to try and be strong. Having this stuff around the house isn't good for any of us. I was reading to Trinity tonight on my belly on her floor for what ever reason and saw SIX chocolate candy wrappers under her bed, WTF. I asked her how they got there and she put her head down as said "I'm going to be grounded from candy, aren't I?" Damn straight you are (well I mean after Valentines and I can get all this other goodness out). I didn't really answer I just gave "The LOOK". Then as I was starting the dishwasher and getting ready to write this. I noticed someone (MATT) had eaten the rest of the Reese's hearts not on the cookies, save one, WTF. Self control people! Luckly, everything is put away now. Then I started writing this and had to dig out the pictures and thought those sugar cookies look REALLY good, so I had one, at 9:30 p.m. very bad practice. It was really good thought, not to toot my own horn, just say'n.

So I have decided on Thursday we are going to purge the house of all goodness. Yes Thursday, I have too much blood, sweat, and tears in this stuff to just throw it out now. Okay not really because I think those things would make my cookies taste gross, but you get my drift so I am waiting until Thursday. That is when our FAMILY will start weaning ourselves from sweets and treats (that is until Girl Scout cookies get here in a couple weeks).

Blogging/Parenting Skills in Question

So as a protest Xavier started crawling seconds after my last post. So this is the post where a good parent posts a video. You won't get that here. He is quite the little mover now, which is also the point that a good parent would baby proof their home. Oh no, not at my house. I took the white out EZ correct out of his hand and mouth only after I saw that he was ruining it. I try to remember to glance at our stairs every minute or so in an effort to catch him if he strays too far, we don't need no baby gate...natural consequences!

Is your life super lame if you only have stuff to say about your kids??

Aysha, is a super cutie and decided to start a book club. She decided what books she would start with when and how long the meetings would be then made invitations to give to her friends. First meeting is this Saturday at 3 p.m. in case your interested, our house. (hmmm I bet 9 year olds would love to baby proof a house) I think the first book is going to be Shrek 2, but a final decision won't be made until the meeting. Girl Scout cookie sales ended Sunday. Aysha was very motivated to get out and sell. She went door to door in our neighborhood a couple times, there are a lot of adults that wouldn't be willing to do that. Though I have a feeling the delivery will be quite the pain, I think it is worth it to get them first!!

Someone is getting into electrical items and making a ruckus, so until next time...................

Gung Hay Fat Choy!!

Well you now all now how I feel about resolutions, but I have decided the year of the Dragon is going to be a good year for me and my family! I have also been using the extra weeks of the western calendar to fine tune my 2012 goals, so Happy New Year, and here goes...

As you know I have been with U.S. Bank for almost 8 years and have really enjoyed it. I feel lucky to have an employer that allows me to work my schedule, and balance my life as long as I get my work done. With that said I had a baby last year and was quite lazy at work. Again thank you to my 8 years because no one seems to care as much as I do how poorly I did, but rather remind me "um you just had a baby". I finished #24 out of #50 worst ever, but I am pretty sure the 23 folks ahead of me didn't have a baby and that makes me feel even better, come to think of it neither did the 26 below me!! Since I don't really rest easily in the middle of the pack I have decided to make more money this year over any other year at the bank. My good sign for this is that my new boss (of one week) after receiving an email from me that apparently got her excited about me finished the email with "I love it, this is Your year". I agree.

If you see this awesome banker on the street refer her a commercial real estate loan!

A good year at work will mean some sacrifices with the family time. The first decision I have been grappling with is whether or not to continue breastfeeding. Xavier is 8 months this week and I have gone strong, but it compromises when I get out the door in the morning, what I do for lunch, and when I leave the office. So I may need some cheerleaders or some strong scientific evidence for making it a whole year. Since I did with the two girls all I can think is that if I quit and this kid has problems I will always go back to "I knew I should of just finished the year!" BUT everyone with boys tell me what problems they are anyway with school and social skills, so it could be useless anyway. (Case and point: I have breastfed so far and he doesn't crawl or pull himself to a stand and just because you have 2 sisters that carry you everywhere doesn't mean you can just be LAZY).

We are going to go on a family vacation this year I don't know when or where,but we are going. While we have been a lot of places and vacation we have never been on one without extended family. Or really one that wasn't to visit family. Lower cost, crazy fun family ideas much appreciated.

Exercising will start taking place, hard to say exacting when on this one (remember my last post about commitment?). I have always been an exerciser and actually enjoy it, but I am more of a gym person, when I get out the door I work hard. I also don't care too much about exercising while breastfeeding. I like to be close to home, like 5 minutes or less. Unfortunately the gym closest to our house is the most expensive, but it is really nice and I think I might have to just bite the bullet. So I could use some convincing on why one would pay $100/month for a service at one place when they can get the same service for $20/month at another just a bit further away.

The Blaze will make it to the playoffs. I think I might actually pray for this one because Matt is not the most pleasant person around the borders of football so the better the season the better the family!

Mostly, I am going to relax and have more fun with my family. When my house is a mess I will remember to breath and relax. When the laundry is piled up, I will remember one day the kids will be grown and gone, and relax. When the kids want me to play a game in the middle of cooking dinner, I might just let it burn, and relax. I will remember I am a beautiful, strong, powerful, influential, funny, loving, likable woman and THAT is a relaxing thought. Gung Hay Fat Choy.

Not my New Year's Resolution

So I was thinking I should blog more. I am pretty sure it was a thought and I said Maybe my New Year's Resolution should be to blog more. You know not a firm commitment.(Though Matt is pretty sure I said it was my resolution) For whatever reason I have never been able to commit to the little things (Hence no resolutions). Example: If I know my kids are going to sleepover or go to a friends and they are asking I won't definitively say yes that is the plan. Same thing with dinners, clubs, movies, etc. The moral of this story is....I hope you will see me more but can't commit to it!

So we had Christmas in Palm Springs and it was HOT for the first time in a few years. We actually lounged by the pool in our suits. Normally the kids are swimming no matter the temperature and we are out there in pants and a shirt.

Matt's Dad always gets a really nice house, backing a PGA course, but we don't typically golf there. This was a the first year Matt got to golf on the course we stayed since it was public, which was nice. He got in 2 rounds both in the low 80's and he came back thinking we needed to increase his golf budget and that he should look at some amateur tourney's (neither of those will happen).

This was also the first year without Matt's Mom, not much I can say about that because it makes me sad. She is M I S S E D!

The drive there and back wasn't miserable, but I am glad we don't have to do it again for a while. It is always nice to be home. I seriously cried when I walked in the door because my Mom had been watching our cats so on one of her visits she took down and put away ALL of our Christmas decorations. That is always everyone's least favorite part of Christmas, so that was really one of my best presents and a reminder of why I LOVE her so much.

Now we are back into the grind of the regular schedule with 3 kiddos, but I better save some of that for next time right??

They are doing great, both Aysha and Trinity had strep to start December, while Xavier had just a small cold when we got back from California during Thanksgiving.

Overall our schedules have been busy with the kids activities. Swimming, dance, choir, skiing, etc...

Trick or Treat!

Had a blast this week getting ready for Halloween. The kids were super excited to wear their costumes and get candy!

A day or so before Halloween the kids and Chele went to a party. By the look of the images, it looks like they had fun!

Weather here in SLC was just perfect last night! Probably the best weather we have had on Halloween in years. Was at least 50 degrees and partly cloudy, just perfect!

Aysha went to a friends house to trick or treat, while I took Trinity out around our neighborhood. Chele watched the door during this time, but she also took Trinity out as well.

Trinity kicked ass last night pulling in the most candy! Of course she was tired, but she has candy to last her days, I mean months :)

Well Trinity went out with a bang in her last soccer match of the season. Even though I demanded 4 goals in order to continue to play soccer, I am going to allow her to play with the 3 goals :)

She played her tail off this season and of course we all know what is most important on this fine day, the trophy!

Well it has been a while since we posted any thing on our blog. There has not been a lot that has gone on since my mother's death. Girls playing soccer, me recruiting players for the Blaze and Chele kicking ass at US Bank.

I find myself not taking as many images as I used to these days. Though when I do I feel happy. It has always been something that sets me at ease. Anywhooo, below you will see images from Trinity's 5th birthday, and her Western Day at Challenger School. She was dressed to the nines, cow girl style!

Celebration of Life

Well this past weekend we had a Celebration of Life for my Mom (Love and Miss you!). My Mom passed away on 8/19/2011 from Diabetes.

The Celebration of Life was held back in Madison, WI. It was a truly beautiful ceremony and something I know my Mom would have been proud to see.

My dad did a wonderful job of putting together all of this within 4 days basically of her passing.

We had what I believe is around 50 or so people show up to the ceremony and 30 or so to the lunchin.

Xavier almost 12 Weeks

Well Xavier is almost 12 weeks old at this point. He is smiling even more these days and Chele can make him giggle a little, though I believe he has gas!

He sleeps pretty good through the night, though lately his schedule has been a little off. Though that probably won't change going into this weekend when we fly to Wisconsin for my Mothers Celebration of Life.

Overall he is such a good baby so far. We have zero complaints about him.

Trinity and her first soccer game

Well Trinity had her first soccer game of her life this past Monday. She started the game off with a bang scoring within the first 15 seconds of the match starting. Pretty amazing!

I really do believe having a big sister helped her know the game. Other kids were unsure of what to do with the ball, but Trinity just went right after it and kicked it till she got it into the goal.

She was also huge on defense. When she was in the game they never advanced the ball at all. Again I believe this can be attributed to her having a big sister in soccer.

Trinity would end the game with around 5 goals and cookie all over her face after the match! Lets be honest, we all know that is what she cared about anyways!

Trinity and her first day in Preschool

Well not only did Aysha start school today, but Trinity did as well. Trinity who missed the cut off date for kindergarten by 24 days is stuck in preschool again.

Very stupid if you ask me, but hey that's why we vote who we vote in.

First day of Fourth Grade

Well today marks Aysha's first day of Fourth Grade! Yes I said that correctly, Fourth Grade! Where has the time gone.

She looks so happy and has been so excited to start school for the last week or so. I hope she has fun this year.

Trinity and her first soccer practice

So Trinity had her first soccer practice, ever! She was as excited as someone could be, it was almost like Christmas around the household.

She has been talking about it non stop for 3 days at least. Today was no different! Started as soon as she woke up and ended when we finally got to practice.

It was cute but at the same time very annoying.

Practice went well, as in no one came away crying, yet. She scored a few goals in the scrimmage, but most importantly she had fun.

To be honest I am not sure what she wants more, to play soccer or get treats. Personally I am leaning towards the treats, haha.

Finally had a chance to go watch the girls at their pool lessons today. Of course I had to take my camera!

Aysha is on the diving board, looking good and not scared. Trinity is taking more swim lessons. I think she is finally at the point where she is comfortable in the pool, though she got scared today. So maybe by the end of this season she will man up!

5 Weeks Old

Xavier has turned 5 weeks old (well he is almost 6 now, but who is counting) and with that he has smiled a few times, eats like a horse, and his poops sound like something is literally blowing up in his diapers!

Michele saw his first smile last week, he smiled at me a day or so ago. Can't wait till it is on a regular basis!

4 Weeks Old

Well Xavier is now 4 weeks old. His noise making is getting unique at this point. He is a very loud eater, talking crazy loud!

He has an eye infection, which is rare I guess from what the Pediatrician said to Chele. So much so he had to look up how much he could give Xavier dose wise.

He farts all the time, love it! He does not blow up his diaper till chele changes it, classic!

He is starting to move his head towards the person that is talking to him it seems. Here are some images of him below, thanks for looking.

Aysha Turns Nine

Man she has grown up so fast. I feel like it was just yesterday we were living in Kentucky and she was just barely learning how to ride a bike.

She is so big now, so independent (always has been) and I am scared to death that something will happen to her. My biggest worries are my girls! I hope that they grow up to be strong girls/women!

First Doctors Appointment

Well this past week we had our first doctors appointment for Xavier.

They measured him and pricked him again on the heel.

He is back to his birth weight already which is good. His height is around 60% while his weight and head are in the thirties.

Xavier is eating like he is addicted to milk. He is also opening his eyes more at this point, though he does sleep like a cat (20 hours a day it seems).

We believe he can hear now, but we won't know for sure till next week when he gets his tests.

As we all know, this stage is kinda boring when it comes to a kids life. Enjoy the One Week Old images below!

Week One Stats!

Well we made it a week, hooray! Xavier (pronounced with the X as X not as a Z, by the way) and the rest of the family are doing well. He seems to be a very content baby. He is adored and fought over by his sisters. Here are some stats from week one:[green_box]

Diapers changed: 43 (I won't break down Mom vs. Dad on this one)

Wipes used: 100

Laundry loads: 16 (putting Vaseline on a diaper really defeats the purpose)

Bath's: 1

Mom's outings: 6

Baby's outings: 4...pictures, sister's soccer game, Daddy's football game, and a walk.

Walk's: 1

Dinner's cooked: 0 (Thank you to all my wonderful friends and neighbors)

Crunches: 0 (Proud of this one, even though I was asked a few times if there was another baby in my belly)

Naps: Not enough.

>I am starting to realise it is possible that there are some things I will need for this child that I just don't have. Eight weeks seems a little scary at this point. I saw some really cute photos on facebook of an old friend that went to a baby shower. She took some really good pics, including of some of the gifts. That is when I saw the Mylicon drops and thought oh yes I need those, Trinity lived on those. That led to me thinking I might need Desitin, lotion, baby soap, powder among other things. It has been so long since using and seeing these products I don't even know how to spell them. So while I have tried to avoid pregnancy and baby places, I think I might actually have to make a trip to Babies-R-Us.
Let the nesting begin!
This past weekend I turned my house into a disaster by trying to get rid of all my baby girl clothes. There is a local church that has a really good sale and so it seemed like a good idea. Well it is one of those projects that you are suddenly in the middle of and just want out. The house is still a mess and I will likely not get through all the items, but they will make it out the door one way or another. I just don't have the time since I still need to decide where Xavier will sleep and need to put some arrangements together for that. I think I will have Aysha move downstairs but not until after summer, so technically I need to get two rooms ready. Since I am on a tight budget this year I have allocated no money to either of these rooms, does anyone have a great design tip, where you get paint, a bedroom set, and a bed, someone else does it all and it is free?

It is the third child and I shouldn't worry too much, right? I doubt he will even know he wore pink and slept in a closet for his first 3 months.

Aysha has been given the option of moving downstairs and would like to. Now, I still can't decide if I want Aysha to move downstairs and I really have no motivation to get 2 rooms ready. Trinity says the baby can sleep with her and I am not sure that will go over all that well. At this point the closet seems best, I won't need to paint and it has a lot of clothes space (well once I move out Matt's stuff :D).

Well the wifey is six months along at this point. She is doing great but it is without a doubt much harder for her than the previous two. She was much younger back then :) No but seriously she is doing great and Xavier is starting to kick quite a bit now.

>In case you did not know, Michele and I (well mostly chele) are having a baby. She is due at the end of May, beginning of June. We just had our third ultrasound and found out the sex of the baby. I have cried in all three of the ultrasounds and today was no different. To see a little thing living and growing inside my wifes belly is so amazing, it always brings me to tears. Check out the videos below to see when we first told them we were having a baby, than when we told them the sex of the baby.

It was rainy and cold once it hit time to head out with the girls. Aysha was with her friends while I took Trinity out. Had a blast with her as it really seemed she finally understood what was going on this year.

>Since Matt is going with out meat for 30 days I have been trying new ideas. I made this the other night and thought it turned out pretty good. It would also be good with beef, but was pretty good with just the veggies I had on hand. You really can just throw in what you have and what sounds good, you can also skip ingredients you don't have, though I think the fresh ginger made it so I wouldn't skip that. I also snuck in whole wheat noodles since I was using a brown sauce I didn't think anyone would notice, but please just use what you have. The whole process took about 30 min. including chopping. Once all veggies were prepped it is only 20 min. and you do most of it while the pasta is cooking. Some people need specific instructions, I really just throw things together but will do my best here.

1 tbsp Coconut oil (again what you have on hand will work)
1/2 package of Whole Wheat Angle hair pasta
1 tbsp finely chopped ginger root
1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
Veggies on hand, I used:
1/2 Asian eggplantd skinned and chopped
1/2 red pepper cubed
10 baby carrots quartered (more if desired)
2 handfuls Sugar Snap Peas
1 tsp.Crushed Red Pepper
1 tsp. Dried Onion
3/4 Cup beef broth
1/3 Cup rice or cider vingar
1/3 Cup honey
3 tablespoons honey
1 tbsp coconut oil

Boil water start cooking noodles. While cooking noodles start skillet with 1 tbsp coconut oil on med-high. Stir fry ginger and garlic for 30 seconds. Add veggies, stir fry until crisp and tender remove from skillet. Add broth, vinegar, honey, soy sauce, coconut oil, red pepper, and onion to skillet once boiling stir in fully cooked noodles, toss, add veggies and stir one more minute or until all ingredients are same temp. Serve warm with additional soy sauce to taste.

Well the regular season has come to an end in the AFL. This week we will start the playoffs, which only last 3 weeks. 2 games, then the ArenaBowl.

The ArenaBowl will be played in Spokane if (when) we make it there. We secured home field throughout the playoffs with a 13-3 recored this season.

This has been a good year for me, though another hard one for Michele. Hopefully she can last another 3 weeks for me.

All is well for me right now. Just a little tired from the season and still suffering from a sore throat that has gotten a touch better this past week or so. I had been suffering from one for what seemed like a month.

Hopefully when I get back home and I quit eating crappy food every day I can lose the 20 pounds I gained here in Washington!

This next weeks game will not be on TV, but next weeks game might be. Our schedule goes, Friday, Thursday, Friday championship game.

>Very Long Road Trip, Thanks Mother Nature

Well this past weekend we had a short day (6 hours) turn into a very long day (17 hours) because of mother nature.

We flew from Spokane to Minneapolis which was great, well our layover was around an hour and within that hour storm clouds were'a brewing.

But before we get to that lets talk about the events that lead up to the cancellation of our flight!

We were already running at least 10 minutes late when the plane was fully boarded, it was hot and I mean hot in the plane. It had to be at least 100 degrees and humid in the plane. The air conditioning was broken and the truck that supplies air on the ground had kinked hoses.

Well 5 minutes after we just watched the warnings and whatever they call it on the TV for evacuation stuff the Captain comes on the mic and announces that we don't have air conditioning for you and that they have to manually start the engine because that is broken (the reason there was no air I guess).

10 minutes turns into 20 minutes and that 20 minutes turns into all hell breaks loose weather wise.

The staff ask if we want to wait inside the ramp because it is so hot in the plane, we all basically got up and moved into the ramp before finally they allowed us to go back into the terminal. 20 minutes later after tornado warnings, winds reaching over 60 mph, hail, etc... the fine workers for delta announce that the flight is cancelled!

Of course when you are flying with a group of 27 it is not exactly easy to find another flight. So the coaching staff begins to work in overdrive to find a bus company to drive us to Milwaukee. One company turns into two, two turns into trying to find large SUV's or Mini Vans to us finally finding a company that can do it.

4 hours later after we get our luggage from the airport, sitting in a HOT, muggy baggage claim, we are in a bus heading to Milwaukee.

What was supposed to be a nice easy 43 minute flight turned into a 6 hour bus right with the final two hours being driven in the windiest conditions I have ever seen.

We eventually arrived at our hotel at 4:00am, and our day finally ended. Mother Nature blew us a kiss this weekend!

Needless to say it was nice to get the win, and take a nap when we got home today.

>Happy Father's Day Matty! We love and miss you. This year we celebrated Father's Day without Matt because he is still in Spokane. We are past the half way mark so I am happy to be in the home stretch. His offense played a great game this weekend and his team is doing well. I am happy to know that he get's to do something he loves and is fulfilled by his accomplishments on the field. I think people live their whole lives not getting to do something they love, that is why we have always tried to find the balance for this lifestyle. Since we just saw each other about a week ago we decided we would make a family trip in July and not on father's day, but it doesn't make it any easier. While I got to spend father's day with my dad and his entire family and really just enjoy the company of that, Matt missed his girls. I know he misses us like crazy and tries not to think about it, but it makes me sad to think he spent this day alone.

Matty, thanks for being such a passionate person and a loving dad. I love you!

>This past weekend we had a game down in Orlando. We flew down there on Friday and stayed there till Sunday morning.

It was so nice to actually be in warm weather! The weather in Spokane has been just terrible. Rainy and cold for about the past 2 months. Today in fact it was 48 and cloudy with on and off rain, it is JUNE 16TH, WTF!

Anyways had a blast down there with the team. Had a chance to eat good southern pulled pork with sweet tea (Wildside BBQ Bar and Grill). There is nothing like good southern food. That is without a doubt the one thing I miss most from living in Kentucky.

This past weekend we had an inner squad scrimmage, the offense played well. Week 2 of camp begins the prep week for the Iron. Gameplan install will start on Thursday, while the official install starts Monday of next week.

>For those of you that have a precious baby that is so cute when they suck their thumb, make them stop!!! So I kept thinking it would go away on its own, and while it has subsided quite a bit Aysha (our 7.5 year old) still sucks her thumb. It had not been impacting her teeth to this point but now that she is getting her permanent teeth I just feel better about correcting it. So Monday we had a little device put in by her dentist so $150 and 6 months later we should have an 8 year old who doesn't suck her thumb. Now for those of you that have never seen an adult sucking their thumb in a board meeting I am sorry but the control freak in me wanted it stopped by 8. Despite other methods it came to the dental appliance. Aysha seems to be handling it okay, and I am sure the speech impediment will be gone soon!

>Well yesterday Chele and I hosted turkey day for the first time. There were around 14 total people at the house.

I decided to break out our China that we received when we got married back in 1999. Just so you know, it was our first time ever using it! 10 years and 1 month after we received this great set, we finally broke them out. I forgot how nice they were! lol

For the Turkey we used this recipe I found on the foodnetwork.com website. It had 52 reviews at the time and all 52 were extremely positive. When I went back last night to write our own review, there were already 6 more added.

My review of the recipe, awesome. This was without a doubt the best tasting turkey I have ever ate. I think a few more from last night felt the same as well. Here is a link to the recipe: Click ME

>Finally had a chance to go through the images from her game on Saturday. It was a perfect morning with perfect light. A little harsh at times, but soft enough.

Aysha played well and I was back doing what I do best, shooting the game! Chele missed the last game because she was doing her Heart Walk so I had to be the coach.

Another nice thing about this recent game, Grandma (Geer) and Grandpa (Caputo) were able to make it. In case you did not know, Linda and Jeff, will be moving back to Utah next month after working and living in Sacramento, CA the last 2 years.

>So this Saturday the Maddox family and Sauk family went camping at Albion Basin. Albion is around 9,000 to 10,000 feet up and you can feel it!

The scenery is simply wonderful up there and it is so quite. It seems like a place where older groups go so there is not the sound of drunks everywhere at night time.

Of course Brian wanted to go on a hike and by now I should know what that means, 3 miles at least with serious vertical inclines! lol

Trinity wanted to go so I took her with me, which meant by a half mile I was carry her. I am in pretty good shape, not great, but not bad either. At those altitudes it was tough as hell to walk up steep inclines and carry a child! I could tell I just was not getting the air I needed as I was dying. Legs, body felt fine, but catching my breath and heart racing was another "thang".

Well we made it about 3/4th up this trail and had to turn around which of course sucked, but there was no way I could make it. So trinity and I turned around and headed back to camp.

This was the first time I had really ever been camping and I had fun. Chele and I know now what we need in order to sleep better and be warm. So without a doubt I am looking forward to the next time we go which I believe will be in a few weeks.

>Well I took Trinity in to the doctor after she came down with Croup, again. This was the 4th time this year and the doctor agreed that we should go see a specialist.

Soooo, sometime by the of the month we will have an appointment to see someone at Primary Childrens Hospital.

This marks the 4th time as I said with the first being in January, 2nd in June, 3rd in July and now the 4th yesterday. Before this year she had it in May of 2008.

It did not like sound like we should be alarmed as kids will eventually grow out of it, but still.

>Well this morning we got the call from the cousin Brian, "hey lets go hiking". I said no at first and no at second, but finally came around. The kids and chele wanted me to go so I said what the hell, it won't be that bad.

So Chele calls her dad, he meets us at the park and ride at the entrance of Big Cottonwood Canyon. We drive up there and end when the road ends, probably around a good 8,000 feet up I believe.

At that altitude it is not easy to catch your breath lets be honest. And I am not in super shape either, but not bad :) So we start walking on our hike, me, chele, aysha, trinity, brian and his family and grandpa.

Beautiful views, nice and peaceful and pretty steep! What was supposed to be a mile walk (that is what chele told me to get me up there) turned into a nice 3 mile hike. Now again I must admit that once we got to the top it was wonderful, just awesome as you can see in the images at the bottom of this post, but still not as easy as I thought it was going to be.

In the end it was worth it as I got within about 25 feet of a HUGE Moooooose with a huge RACK.

>Well this past Saturday Aysha had her first soccer game of the fall season. Her team is called the Purple Eagles and as you can guess it their uniforms are all purple. I can not really complain as that is better then the pink ones I see out there!

We are not talking about a nice pink either, I am talking about making your eyes hurt kinda pink!

Aysha I think has learned that it is ok to be rough out there and push her way around. She did a few seasons ago, but then for whatever reason was scared again this past spring/summer when she played.

Trying to make her tough out there. Use your arms and body to push people around to get to the ball and she did just that this past game. She ended up scoring two goals. I hope this is the new Aysha that is tough and not a little baby out there lol

>Well today Aysha began her first day of 2nd grade! 2nd grade folks! Man, 7 years old, I am getting old!

Aysha has been talking about this day for a month now. If school started a month ago, heck a few days after 1st grade ended she would be a happy camper. She loves school and right now it seems like she really likes her 2nd grade teacher.

I am glad she has that excitement for school, because I never did. I always asked Michele, what would you rather have, a smart kid who does well in school or an athletic kid who was not good at sports.

Personally, give me the kid with brains. I loved athletics but to succeed in this world you need school first. Here are some pictures of Aysha going to school.

>TriUtah Jordanelle Triathlon 2009

>Well I had the pleasure of cheering on my wonderful wife and cousin, Brian in this years TriUtah. This was their first ever triathlon and of course it was almost triple digit heat!

The race started at 9:30 for Brian, while Chele had a start time of around 9:35am.

In case you did not know tri's start with swimming then goes to biking and you finish with a run (otherwise known as yogging (anchorman reference)).

I think Brian's weakest part of the Tri was the swimming, but he picked it up in both the run and bike. Michele on the other hand kicked ass in the swimming and did well in both the run and bike.

This was for the most part a final chapter to what seems like a year of working out, breaking bones, seeing doctors for bad hips, wondering if we could have a kid, etc...It was finally good to see these two people finish what they started a long time ago.

>Well yesterday Aysha had her very first day of softball practice. The weird to me is that they have girls aged from 7 to 11 years old!

The girls vary from size and Aysha for once looks really small next to these older girls. I do not understand why they have such a huge age range, but I can only guess it is because of numbers in the sport.

Aysha did well for it being her first time playing the sport. She was having issues with throwing it overhand and positioning her body to make the throw. That can be worked on while her hitting looked pretty darn good.

Of course that was with a parent throwing the ball, who knows what she will be like when an 11 year old is firing the ball in! lol

>Vacation to Wisconsin

I couldn’t get it out of my head. Its that itch, that need to make real an idea that has rolled around in one’s head for days, snowballed itself into a temporary obsession that just has to be satisfied.

I arrived in a flash and snatched them up from where they stood on the street. As I threw them into the trunk of the vehicle I had to rough them up some so they would fit. I shoved and beat and mangled them into place and was off before any witnesses knew what had even happened.

>Tonight right before bed I was looking through my images (I do it often, they always make me feel good) and thought to myself, It would be cool to view images from 2003 to 2009 (that is the dates from which I began taking pictures) of the girls growing up.It truly is amazing how fast they grow up. You never really notice it till you look at pictures from previous years. From short little legs and a cute butt to an attitude in 5 years!

I love my girls (yes chele you included) and I would never take back the great times I have had with them. If there is one thing I have learned since having my first girl and having to deal with the "drama!" is to be patient. Girls lets be honest, drama is your middle name!

You will notice I missed a few birthdays, I do feel terrible as I am pretty sure I was gone for most of them :( It makes me sad
